Alison Glastein, Executive Director
Alison brings 15 years experience serving the nonprofit sector in senior-level positions and as a consultant. She was Founder and President of PEAR Associates LLC, a firm that has provided grant writing and strategic planning services to nonprofit organizations throughout Greater Boston since 1999. Most recently Alison served as a contracted Director for the Children's Advocacy Center of Norfolk County. Prior to PEAR, Alison was Executive Director of Healthy Malden, an award-winning community coalition. She has a graduate degree in Education and an undergraduate degree in Sociology. Alison is kept on her toes by her 5-year old daughter Sophie, 3-year old son Cameron, and 4-year old cocker spaniel "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Alison enjoys movies, disco-dancing, vegetarian cooking, and working out.

Charmaine Tyler, Office Manager
Charmaine is very excited about joining the Summerbridge family! Charmaine has spent the last seven years selling real estate full time and owns her own company. Selling real estate has given her the opportunity to spend quality time with her two younger children, Khai 11-years and Donte 7-years. Prior to that Charmaine worked at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University as Assistant to the Director of Admissions and Diversity Coordinator. She enjoys working with the pre-teen children at her Church, traveling, working out, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Sarah Joslyn, Program Director
Sarah taught at Summerbridge Cambridge in the summer of 2005 and served as the Dean of Students the following summer, just after graduating from Tufts University. Before returning to SBC as Program Director, Sarah worked as a Program Associate at the Boston Plan for Excellence, where she supported students and teachers in the Boston Public Schools. As Program Director, Sarah's responsibilities include advocating for students hiring and supervising teachers and professional staff, and running the summer and after-school programs. Outside of SBC, Sarah's interests include reading, yoga, playing the violin, baking and cooking up a storm! She makes a mean batch of scones!

David Lewis, High School Program Coordinator
David (or Dave) was born and raised in Cambridgeport, and attended the King Open and Cambridge Rindge and Latin schools. He is thrilled to once again be living and working in Cambridge, and to be a part of the Summerbridge team! David's passion in life is working with youth and helping to improve their education. At Summerbridge, David will work with SBC alumni to ensure that they have the best resources and educational support systems available to them. David taught at SBC for two summers ('02, '03) and recently returned to teach the seminars for ¡Palante!, SBC's pilot 9th grade program. He also teaches the Young Authors workshops for Boston teens at the Roxbury Youth Programs, and has taught Boston Public Schools students at the BELL Foundation's after school and summer programs. David believes in the value of public education, and he plans to teach in the Boston Public Schools in the future. David is currently finishing his degree in History and Middle School Education through UMass. In his free time, David likes to DJ parties, listen to music, read, cook, play basketball, and do landscaping.

Laurie Rothstein, Development Director
Laurie joined the Summerbridge team as Director of Development in September of 2006, a personally satisfying assignment for someone whose daughter attends public school in Cambridge. Her professional repertoire included serving as Director of Development for the Armenia Tree Project, Deana’s Fund, and The City School of Boston. Prior to her fundraising career, Laurie earned a Master's Degree in Anthropology and founded a catering business for culture-specific events in Greater Boston. She returned to Indonesia, the focus of her studies, to make a documentary about Javanese cook-servants (distributed by D.E.R. in Watertown, MA.) At Summerbridge, her primary responsibilities include building relationships with and serving the needs of our amazing individual and corporate supporters, including the leadership donors who form the Educators' Circle. Outside of work, Laurie's interests include running, ethnic cooking and learning to play the fiddle.
